Chicks
on Cracks will be held the weekend of November 8th 9th &10th. This is our sixth year of Chicks on Cracks. The third day is an optional day giving you
the chance to add on an extra day to participate in the advanced
part of the rope safety and self rescue clinic. The format
will be as follows:
Friday:
6.00 p.m. We all meet for registration. All our guides will
be present, and there will be introductions, an outline of
the weekend, demo gear sign out, presentation and food.
Saturday:
8.00 a.m. Meet at Moab Desert Adventures (coffee and tea provided, not
breakfast). Bring all your gear for the day including food
and water (we will be out all day).
8.30
a.m. Transport to Wall Street. Half the group does taping,
crack climbing techniques and climbing, whilst the other half
does rope safety and self rescue clinic. After lunch, we swap
groups.
6.00
p.m. Meet up for dinner and raffle. Groups organised
for Indian Creek climbing.
Sunday:
7.00 a.m. meet at Moab Desert Adventures.. Bring all your gear for the
day. Car pool to Indian Creek.
7.30
a.m. leave for Indian Creek.
9.00
a.m. - 3.30 p.m. Climb cracks all day.
4.00
p.m. Return demo gear. Return to Moab. Say goodbyes.
Monday:
Add an extra half day - take the advanced part of the rope safety
and self rescue clinic. This will include advanced techniques
such as belay escapes, ascending the rope, rigging hauling
systems.
Angela Hawse will be teaching the
rope safety and self rescue clinics. Angela is an AMGA certified
Rock Guide.
Costs
$395 per person and $465 if you stay for Monday.
